BMSS Publications

The BMSS Bulletin is the Society's main magazine. Published quarterly, it contains articles on all aspects of modelling, collecting, painting, uniforms, show reports, and other subjects of interest to military modellers. Regular features include news of events from the model soldier world, reviews of new figures and books plus a correspondence column for members to express their views on subjects relevant to the Society and to the hobby. (See sample pages from the BMSS Bulletin magazine.)

The Bulletin Extra is a newsletter sent to members between the main Bulletin issues, giving details of Society activities, forthcoming events and news of all kinds, so keeping members fully informed and in touch with all the latest in the model soldier hobby. The Bulletin Extra is published electronically. Back issues of the Bulletin Extra are available for BMSS members to download from the Members' Area.

The BMSS Handbook contains authoritative information on subjects such as uniforms, paints, modelling data, etc. The Handbook is published in sections, sent to members as and when suitable material is available, which build into a permanent work of reference. (List of Handbook contents)

In addition to these publications, from time to time the BMSS publishes "Special Publications" on particular topics. Titles include a listing of all Britains "Eyes Right" figures and a history of the BMSS celebrating the first 60 years of the Society and its achievements.
